2008-7-23: xf86-video-intel 2.4.0 released, with new Intel 4 series chipset support, improved 965 exa render performance, integrated HDMI support, and SDVO HDMI support.
2008-4-22: xf86-video-intel 2.3.0 released, with XvMC-i915 and panel-fitting merged.
2008-2-22: xf86-video-intel 2.2.1 released.

Known driver issues

Work in progress:
- EXA (default acceleration method starting from 2.2.0 release) has performance issue in some scenario, to be resolved in 2.5 release: bug#13389
- XvMC: mostly working but with performance issue on i915, developed in progress on i965 (to be released in 2.5 release).

In TODO list:
- Framebuffer resize not supported yet: bug#10700
- No support for DRI if screen wider/higher than 2048 px on pre-i965: bug#10479
- Chrontel CH7308 SDVO->LVDS converter not supported: bug#11645
- TV-out SDVO card not supported: bug#9992
- DVI/HDMI output needs to be able to cope with TVs that expect broacast RGB: bug#14486

Beyond TODO list:
- CH7xxxx DVO TV-out not supported (Chrontel specs are open so anyone could write the driver): bug#12882
- Textured video is supported on platform post i915, not available on i8xx.
- Focus FS453/454 Scan Converter not supported (i815): bug#13263
