xf86-video-intel 2.11.0:
* Support for new DRI2 APIs, allowing page flipping to occur for swaps that are full-screen and not rotated.
mesa 7.8:
* i965 driver adds support for the following extensions: GL_EXT_draw_buffers2, GL_ARB_fragment_coord_conventions, GL_APPLE_object_purgeable.
* i915 driver adds support for the following extension: GL_APPLE_object_purgeable.
* Much improved support for EGL in Mesa.
kernel 2.6.33:
* Page flipping (reduces memory bandwidth consumption for full screen apps).
* Improved tiled rendering support (execbuf2 interface which allows for finer grained fence register management, increasing performance).
* Improved support for Intel® HD Graphics (in Intel® 2010 Core i7/i5/i3 Processor Series).

Dramatically improved performance of large pixmaps on memory-constrained hardware, (such as 945), by using tiling: bug#25375.
Elimination of software fallback with alpha-only pixmap (a fix which eliminated a full second from the Moblin boot time): bug#26189.
Fix for undesired black borders on some images, (caused several problems with firefox): bug#17933.
Improved KMS detection for some hardware: bug#23842,bug#25417.
Fixing blank screen with starting some games in non-native mode: bug#24009.
SGI_video_sync support for DRI2: bug#22166.

known issues

TODO:

3d games hang when running in native resolution on some machines: bug#27040.
Setting modes may crash X with compiz: bug#27285.
3d window becomes black after VT switching or suspend/resume: bug#27035.
Extended desktop messed with compiz: bug#27408.
Textured video broken for certain widths on post-965: bug#27417.
Backlight property nonexistant for Macbook in KMS: bug#25901.
No support for interlaced modes: bug#11220.
Some DVO LVDS not supported: bug#17902.

Beyond TODO list:

XvMC is disabled on 915G/GM for KMS: bug#23012.
CH7xxxx DVO TV-out not supported (Chrontel specs are open so anyone could write the driver): bug#12882.
Textured video is supported on platform post i915, not available on i8xx.

This release has been validated on following hardware: Intel® HD Graphics (Arrandale & Clarkdale), GMA 3150 (Pineview), G45, GM45, GM965, 945GM, 945GME, 915GM, 855GM.
